EPDM Cord

EDPM rubber seals have a superior ability to resist degradation from the sun’s UV light and ozone gas produced by sunlight, so it is an excellent, cost-effect seal for automotive markets. It is frequently used for sealing applications on vehicle doors and windows, and trunks and hoods. An exceptional multipurpose cord seal, EPDM shows excellent resistance to the deteriorative effects of ozone, oxygen, weather, heat and many chemicals. With its exceptional weather and water resistance, EDPM cord is a great seal for glass-run channels, washers, belts, solar panels, gas masks and electrical insulation.

Resistant to Heat, Weather and Water Swell

EPDM is a very versatile rubber that performs well under conditions influenced by light and heat, plus great resistance to extreme cold down to -40 degrees F. Often thought of as the performance seal for varying weather conditions, EPDM also has good resistance in industrial environments with steam or electrical insulation needs. Good resistance to:

  • Fireproof hydraulic fluids
  • Ketones
  • Water
  • Alkalis

EPDM has good tear strength and tensile strength. It is not resistant to most oils, fuels, solvents, aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons, or acids. Cord stock is available in a wide range of diameters.

Most sizes are available in 500 feet, 1,000 feet, 2,500 feet, and 5,000 foot quantities. Special orders of larger cross sections are available upon request. Contact us for additional information.
